pointlessness should now be working in Internet Explorer again, though I'm pretty sure it no longer works properly in iCab. I will try and find a way to have both working, but compensating for the inadequacies of Internet Explorer is hard work.
After four days of work, the changeover to XHTML is now almost complete. I've also dumped frames and started using PHP instead. There have been several updates to the site, all sub-articles on Page Notes have been updated, and a new article detailing my analysis of the GPLv3 has been uploaded.
New hosting service and a complete changeover to XHTML today. I plan to update some pages and upload new content, but my focus right now is on getting the site itself working properly.
I'm still recovering from a cold that came out of nowhere, but I got the urge to update two lists and add a third. I have further ideas for site additions and changes, but I don't feel up to that right now.
I sure love making lists.
While in a chatroom, I got a verbatim text copy of a forum post, detailing steps to speed-up Mozilla Firefox without using Fasterfox (which is known to sometimes cause instability). Since the file was as text and seemed somewhat poorly written, I modified and edited it to make a new page, Speeding up Firefox.
If the original author does not approve of this, I can be contacted through one of the means listed on my new contact page.
I'm currently trialling two new Firefox extensions (Fasterfox and FoxyTunes) to see how I like them. They've been added to My Firefox Extensions along with my current thoughts on them.
A redesign of pointlessness to make it use frames is currently in progress. The site is now fully working with frames, but will look a little rough until the redesign is fully finished.
Update: Barring things that I've missed, the redesign should be complete for now. I'm continuing to think about recoding the site in XHTML, but that can wait for now.
Update 2: Inspired by the announcement that Bob and George is to end soon, I made a new page detailing the status of all the comics I have bookmarked. I plan to update it whenever changes happen.
Three new articles today, and a further update to My Applications since I've recently started using Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (Tab Mix Plus finally got updated).
Also, the Archive has been changed, I've fixed up the main CSS coding, and the internal structure of the site has been changed somewhat. These should all make long-term maintenance of pointlessness easier for me, which may make me more willing to update...
Update: Made a few further edits and fixes to "Why I like the BBC", "The issue of DOG tags", and "My Applications".
