I made myself a promise that I would upload an article before March was over, and I've now managed to do it with something of a follow-up to Ode to Joy. It's called From Sea to Shining Sea and explains why I'm still in favour of more EU integration.
Getting back into the habit of updating, The Ghibli List sees an update due to all of the viewing I did while I was without a PC.
Changes to the site to improve browser compatibility (aka the 'Stupid IE Fix') should now be complete. Some pages in the test section still don't work, but I've given myself a blank cheque for breakage in that section anyway, so I'll leave that for now.
The next tasks are to get around to archiving articles and news that were made in January or earlier, and then getting around to new content. Finally moving from the web upload page to FTP should make all this a lot easier in the future.
Update: Until March ends, site housekeeping should now be complete. All that's left to do for the moment is to sit back and wait for inspiration to strike again.
Update 2: The Stupid IE Fix has been changed to fix a problem that I discovered after it had been implemented. pointlessness should now be working as well as it was before.
Chihiro is still not cooperating, but I've started working on pointlessness again as a way of taking my mind off it.
The biggest change is that pointlessness now works on Internet Explorer again thanks to a new Stupid IE Fix. Some PHP working in the background will now serve pointlessness as HTML 4.01 Strict with a text/html MIME-type to any browser unable to handle XHTML 1.1 with an application/xhtml+xml MIME-type.
I'll be applying these changes to the whole site over the course of the next few days, after which I'll take care of some housekeeping (some things really need to be archived) and start writing new content again.
